Overview

Analysis and visualization starts with data. Before you can begin your analysis you need to either bring the data into Explore Analytics (see Uploading Data, or connect to your data by Configuring a Data Source. In Explore Analytics, a Data Source is simply a name of an external source of data. By configuring a data source you tell Explore Analytics how to access this data.

The Explore Data Source

The Explore Data Source holds all the tables that you upload to Explore Analytics. You do not need to configure this data source. It will show up in your list of data sources as soon as you upload your first table.

The Demo Data Source

This predefined data source contains demo data that you can use to become familiar with Explore Analytics.

Hiding the Demo Data Source

If you don't wish to see the Demo Data Source in your list of data sources, you can select "Hide the Demo Data", or "Hide the Demo Data (all users)" to hide it. You will only see the option to hide for all users if you have the applicable role.

The Explore Analytics Agent

In many cases, you data may reside in a database in your private network. To facilitate access to this data you'll need to install the Explore Analytics Agent.
